With over a decade of direct experience in urban planning, community development, and design, Jackson offers a multifaceted approach to support complex planning projects and organizational needs. He combines technical expertise with practical insight, leveraging a wide range of skills to deliver solutions that drive impact.
Jackson’s proficiency includes advanced GIS analysis, 3D modeling in AutoCAD and SketchUp, and working with the full Adobe Creative Suite, as well as web design and development. He is also highly skilled in data analysis, utilizing programming languages like Python and R to derive actionable insights from large datasets.
In addition to his core competencies, Jackson provides specialized services in urban design, spatial analysis, demographic studies, and community engagement strategies. He creates interactive online mapping applications, develops customized data visualizations, and designs comprehensive project reports that translate complex data into accessible formats. His work enhances client projects by making data clear, actionable, and visually compelling—key for urban planning initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
Jackson is also dedicated to supporting economic development and affordable housing initiatives. He works with communities and local governments to design strategies that foster sustainable economic growth, conducting market assessments, crafting revitalization plans, and identifying policies that encourage investment and job creation. His affordable housing work includes assessing housing needs, developing policies, and identifying incentives to expand housing accessibility. These services empower communities to meet housing goals, drive economic vitality, and create lasting, equitable impact.
Previously a design director for a daily newspaper, Jackson brings exceptional design acumen to every project. He has crafted impactful materials and documents for academic research institutes, nonprofits, and urban planning processes, creating professional layouts for reports, grant submissions, and publications that make lasting impressions.
Jackson holds a B.A. in Environment Planning and Design from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Originally from New Mexico, with career roots in Chicago, he is now based in the Netherlands and available for projects across the US and EU.
